Special Education
Welcome to the Special Education Department!
Assistance is provided to the local districts and public school academies in developing and implementing programs and services for children ages pre-natal through 25 years old and their families. These programs and services are provided within a collaborative special education service delivery model that includes: Early On, Head Start, Special Education, and Transition.
The special education department provides leadership and expertise utilizing a knowledgeable consultant corps to address the following issues and needs: Behavioral concerns, Autism, Early Childhood Mental Health, Augmentative/Assistive Communication needs, Curriculum development and implementation, Children/students with more intense medical needs, Early childhood care and development, Transition from school to community.
