Rehab Techs work in the medical field under the supervision of physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers and other rehab personnel. Students in the Rehab Tech program receive a solid knowledge base by learning about the roles and responsibilities of the Rehab Tech, including preparation for therapy patient care, equipment monitoring and maintenance, and assisting clients in therapist-designed treatment plans. The program also emphasizes therapy-related settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, educational settings, fitness centers, and extended care facilities. Course content includes basic anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, wellness and injury prevention, human growth and development, and clinical documentation. Hands-on lab opportunities will also provide students with relevant support services for rehabilitation skills and techniques. Second year students participate in a clinical internship and direct credit and complete advanced medical studies.
