Course Description:

The Early Childhood Develop (ECD) course prepares students for employment in childcare programs. The course includes instruction in child growth and development; child health, nutrition, and safety; planning and supervision of developmentally appropriate play and learning activities; child guidance; and applicable legal requirements; and preparation for the development of effective early childhood programs and facilities. The MACTC-ECD operates Bright Beginnings Preschool, a licensed preschool, where our students acquire hands-on experience. Second year students' work on the requirements for a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification while completing an internship with a preschool in our local community.

pre-school run right at the Career Tech Center!

Articulated college credit is available through Baker College, Ferris State University, andMuskegon Community College.
