Building Information

The Muskegon Area Career Tech Center opened in January of 2005 to serve juniors and seniors in the Muskegon Area. This "world class" training center provides our students with the opportunities to ensure their success in their occupation of choice.

The 58,000 square feet Career Tech Center (CTC) is located at the corner of Harvey St and Stebbins Rd on the northwest corner of the Muskegon Community College campus.

The facility boasts a number of innovative features including:

  • Geothermal heating and cooling system
  • Wind Turbine for producing electricity
  • Solar Panels that generate electricity
  • Motion sensors that turn lights and heat pumps on and off when rooms are occupied/unoccupied
  • Sensors that measure the light coming in the windows and dim the interior lights accordingly
  • Storm water recovery system

In addition to its eco-friendly structure, the CTC site is home to 16 different programs including Auto Body, Auto Service, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Early Childhood Development, Electrical/Electronic Technology, Accounting/Financial Management, Health Services, Horticulture, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR), Internet, Network & Security Technologies, Machine Tool Technologies, Marketing/E-Commerce, Public Safety/Protective Services, Rehab Technician, Restaurant, Catering and Culinary Management, and Welding.

Commercial Art and Graphic Arts & Printing are located at the Stevenson Center at Muskegon Community College (MCC), Cosmetology at Booker Institute, and this year Construction Trades is located off Valley Street in Muskegon.
